This book is aimed at educators and others interested in the topic of initial and continuing training for university teachers. From a social-historical perspective, we take pedagogical practice as our basis and start from the assumption that human action is endowed with personal meanings and senses, within a dynamic context in which elements of the personal and professional history of teachers who are seeking training are articulated. What we are investigating here is whether teachers in higher education are seeking appropriate training for their profession. We will reflect on the way in which their professional training takes place and its direct impact on improving the quality of higher education.
