Roma child in the information society - Praca zbiorowa

On the basis of the analysis of documents as well as narrative interviews, the book presents the research on the topic of the situation of Roma children in Poland and Slovakia. It was our intention to show the participation of Polish and Slovak parents and teachers in preparing the children to cope at school. Special attention was paid to the issues connected with information and communication technologies which constitute important tools in facilitating the education of children in the community of Roma families as well as at kindergartens and integrated day care centers. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * W oparciu o analizę dokumentów oraz wywiady narracyjne w niniejszej książce zaprezentowane zostały badania na temat sytuacji dziecka romskiego w Polsce i na Słowacji. Publikacja prezentuje udział polskich i słowackich rodziców oraz nauczycieli w przygotowaniu dzieci do radzenia sobie w szkole. Szczególne miejsce poświęcono problematyce korzystania z technologii informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych, które stanowią ważne narzędzie w stwarzaniu warunków do uczenia się dzieci w środowisku romskich rodzin oraz w przedszkolach i świetlicach integracyjnych. ****************   Dr Monika Miňová is a member of the Department of Pre-school and Elementary Pedagogy and Psychology, Faculty of Education at the University of Presov. At present she acts as a President of the World Organization for Early Childhood Education in Slovakia (OMEP). She is an expert in the field of pre-school education, educational diagnosis, kindergarten management and marketing as well as alternative approaches in pre-school education. Her PhD study focused on the preparation of Roma children for the transition from family and kindergarten to primary school. She has participated in several teacher mobilities in the Czech Republic and Poland. As a guarantee and lecturer, dr.  Monika Minova engages in continuing education of pre-primary teachers. Dr. Eng. Mateusz Muchacki is a member of the Institute of Computer Science at the Pedagogical University of Krakow. In his research combines two disciplines of knowledge – computer science and pedagogy. It deals with the issues of the use of IT in the development of competences in children, adolescents and teachers. It conducts research on social, cultural and organizational determinants of learning networks (including conducted research in the US). He has experience in creating computer animation, computer graphics and internet applications. Prof. Milan Portik is a member of the Institute of Education Preschool and School Pedagogical University in Krakow and the Department of Pre-school and Elementary Pedagogy and Psychology, Faculty of Education at the University of Presov. He is an expert in the field of theories of education and learning at the primary level of education and educational communication. In his research activities he focuses on the development of cognitive functions in primary school-aged children as well as Roma children education. At present he is a Vice-Rector for Science, Art, Sport and Accreditation at the University of Presov.
