- What A Support Soldier Endured in Vietnam
A true story of what a typical support soldier endured in Vietnam. Most military personnel in Vietnam were not in direct combat but served as support troops. This is what I did, but it wasn't boring, far from it. You will find that out.
I served on an LCM, which is a Landing Craft Marine boat, similar to those who landed at Normandy in WWII. Although I was in the Army, the Army operated medium boat companies in Vietnam. Although our main job was to keep the military supplied with ammunition, C-rations, weapons, etc, we also went on missions up the coast to deliver tanks and ammunition. These missions were scary to say the least.
You will find humorous, strange, and uncommon occurrences that happened during the year I served. Some are combat related.
