Arëk, a centuries-old Schmecum, thinks he's transporting to Memphis, Tennessee, for BBQ and blues music. Much to his surprise, he lands in Haleiwa, Hawaii instead. That's where he meets his human BFF, Chelsey. She teaches him how to surf and he shows her how to transport from one place to another.

The Universe is turned upside down and inside out once Arek and Chelsey team up. Nothing can deter those besties when they are exploring new worlds. Well, except that one time when Chelsey was kidnapped by the Fasians. That was a dicey day!

Just after Chelsey's sixteenth birthday, she and Arëk are told the details of a tragic plane crash into the mighty Pacific just before she was born. The bodies of her sister and two brothers were never found. But she believes they are still alive, and she and Arëk are determined to bring them home.

During their quest to find her siblings the adventurous duo encounters snobby geniuses, sassy royalty, and even sneezing dinosaurs!
