The tourists are taken to a remote location in the desert where they are held captive. The novel explores the themes of colonialism, imperialism, and religious fanaticism. It also showcases Doyle's exceptional storytelling skills, as he weaves a thrilling tale of survival and adventure in the harsh and unforgiving desert.
