The Tyranny of Friendship - John Boman

Two boys become close friends at school. One is shy but gifted musically, the other more extrovert 
 protects and promotes his friend.

In adulthood when one is in a successful rock band and the other is planning a business venture they conceal a serious crime that will divide and define their lives, one to a fulfilling self-exile in California, the other to disillusionment, family break-up and a humdrum existence. 

Thirty years later a meeting for the one still in their hometown triggers disturbing memories but the women in their lives bring them back together to face the past.
