Levenson ("The Old Shekarry") Originally published in 1874 as "Wrinkles or Hints to Sportsmen", this rare early work is both expensive and very hard to find in its first edition. READ COUNTRY BOOKS have republished it, using the original text and photographs. The author was a well known and much travelled big game hunter and sportsman. He was also responsible for other much sought after sporting titles such as, "The Forest and the Field," "Sport in Many Lands," "Hunting Grounds of the Old World," etc. During his hunting trips abroad he made many notes regarding the best sporting equipment and arms required for use in various countries.
