Juan Avila is an idealist, much to the dismay of his brother, Pedro. Convinced that his father, right-hand man of the Duque del Bosque, was worked to an early grave, Juan believes the only way to stand up for the rights of his fellow workers is through terrorism, and in the Madrid of 1934 there are plenty who feel the same way. But, two years later, as civil war breaks out in Spain, his world falls apart: his family disowns him and disappears and Hilda Krantz, the girl he loves, becomes cold and unfeeling, a tool of the Communist Party - which, itself, seems more interested in controlling men than freeing them.
As Juan's beliefs waver, Pedro's grow stronger; he travels over the mountains to find his family, but enlists with the Nationalists instead. In the battlefields and rubble of Spain, Hilda, Juan and Pedro will each find truth - but will it come too late?
A tale of courage, endeavour, faith and redemption, Wayfarers of Fate is a gripping and emotional war story that has particular relevance today.
