This collection of essays is devoted to the perspective of agreement, often referred to as reconciliation or communication. (…) Everyone is a human being and understanding this fact is shared by us all, regardless of our state in life, race, religion or social position. It is culture that determines our level of understanding humanity, because culture is understanding that makes dialogue possible and recognizes another person’s humanity. The book is addressed not only for experts in philosophy, but also for people who make an effort to understand what really matters the most in our life, including the question of dialogue widely discussed in this book – Rev. dr. hab. Grzegorz Barth, Assoc. Prof. (The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin). Contemporary culture is characterized, as we know, by a greater polarization of beliefs combined with an increase in individualistic attitudes. These phenomena distance people from each other, they are lost and feel emptiness. Communication becomes more and more difficult, resulting in less understanding and agreement. (…) These essays outline the path to follow in order to enter into a dialogue with the Other person in a situation where both interlocutors represent different cultures. The language of the essay is original and authorial, I would even say pictorial. Bartłomiej Sipiński does not try to convey ideas that are important to us in a dry, scientific way, but paints suggestive pictures with words.
