A grieving private investigator feverishly hunts down an enigmatic mask made from human flesh that was involved in the death of his son. The mask seems to harbor dark abilities that defy any logical explanation. Soon, he investigates the mysterious circumstances of a suicide that brings him into direct contact with another plane of existence that may hold the key to finding the mask and its current wearer. Meanwhile, a disfigured psychology professor desperately struggles to live a normal life despite his disability and connection to the overarching conspiracy.
