If Protestant church music has been born in abundance over the past centuries, with works through which the Word is musically alive, this is a success for which it is indebted to the link that connects it to the text of the Holy Scriptures and, therefore, to the Word that is Jesus Christ. But at the same time, it is indebted to its deep roots in the congregation's singing, as well as to the care of souls. However, it must be emphasized here that without congregational singing, church music already carries within itself its own disintegration. Vocal polyphony written for the choir from a biblical text and congregational singing are at the forefront. Praising God is incumbent upon the whole human being, and the entirety of the human being encompasses singing. And in this sense, music therefore encompasses the therapeutic aspect which becomes not only in the context of the congregation, but more so in the context of soul care, within the framework of soul care, a tool of restoration, but also of healing for the people of God. Pastoral care in a post-traumatic stress context therefore requires a lot of patience, prudence, and restraint.
