Education and Values in Angola - Brás Chocolate

This book reflects on the school's contribution to values education in Angola. We are concerned about this issue because values are basic requirements for good living and social coexistence and because of their importance in preparing for the exercise of citizenship, which requires a reinvention of the social function of schools, which should not be limited to compulsory subjects. On the other hand, it is due to the fact that in recent years we have heard various appeals from the different players in Angolan societies about the need to affirm and preserve our values, from ethical, moral, patriotic to cultural. The aim is therefore to answer questions such as: is there a crisis of values in Angola? If so, which values are in crisis? Is it possible to educate in values? What values should be passed on and what should they be used for? What means can schools use to educate in values?
