Our English Lakes, Mountains, and Waterfalls, As Seen by William Wordsworth - William Wordsworth

Our English Lakes, Mountains, and Waterfalls, As Seen by William Wordsworth - William Wordsworth

"Our English Lakes, Mountains, and Waterfalls" is a vintage collection of poetry written by William Wordsworth, with each poem connected through the common theme the English countryside, particularly lakes, mountains, and waterfalls. The poems of this collection include: "Winandermere", "Esthwaite", "Langdale", "The Rotha", "Rydale", "Grasmere", "Helvellyn", "Derwent-water", "Brougham Castle", "Black Comb", "The Brothers", "Descriptions of Scenery", "Domestic Poems", "Poems on Flowers", "Poems on Birds", and "Intimations of Immortality". A fantastic collection of poetry not to be missed by nature lovers and fans of Wordsworth's seminal written work. William Wordsworth (1770-1850) was an English Romantic poet famous for helping to usher in the Romantic Age in English literature with the publication of "Lyrical Ballads" (1798), which he co-wrote with Samuel Taylor Coleridge. His best known work is perhaps "The Prelude", a semi-autobiographical poem from his early years which was changed and expanded many times throughout his life. He was poet laureate of Britain between 1843 until his death in 1850. Other notable works by this author include: "The Tables Turned", "The Thorn", and "Lines Composed A Few Miles above Tintern Abbey". This classic work is being republished now in a modern, high-quality edition complete with an introductory excerpt from "Reminiscences" (1881) by Thomas Carlyle.
