I'm going to die...

My life didn't flash before my eyes, I couldn't even scream. All I could think was, this is it, I'm going to die, while staring down the barrel of the gun pointed in my face. 

Growing up in the slums of Longview, everyone here has a past filled with horrors and regrets. I'm no different. 

Aside from my near death experience, I met a guy who seemed to have it all.

Rich.

Charming.

And sexier than anyone I'd ever had in my wet dreams. But, what did this guy want from a girl like me? Was he a phony or the real deal? 

The only thing that mattered now was taking care of the siblings that my deadbeat mom abandoned. If I couldn't figure out a way to pay rent in time, we'd be split up into different homes and I couldn't allow that to happen.
