Altogether the collection comprises twenty-four chapters, or documents, each heavily footnoted with illuminating character sketches, broadsides, and correctives, which supply the reader with hundreds of obscure facts and threads relating to the original planters of the Colony. Most are creditable histories with accompanying lists of early planters, biographical sketches, and topical references to contemporary family members.
