SUMMARY Daniel, a 16-year-old American boy wants to enter a photography contest. He traves  to French Guyana,where he visits his relatives and explores this diverse and intriguing country. On a day trip he meets Carmen, a girl with exceptional eyes. He wants to find her because he thinks he can win the contest with a picture of her. But he doesn't see her again, until one day... 

The story is told from Daniel's point of view. This novella is filled with cultural substance and significant facts about French Guyana. Third year students will find it accessible and engaging. A full glossary is included at the end of the book.
