Steffan Lavelle is a beta were-panther who has been entrusted with the security of the Lavelle pard for four centuries. It is against Kindred Law for any were-shifter to be with a human and if the relationship is discovered they are to be either killed or changed into one of them. Raquel Dulcati has had difficulty performing her job as an ER nurse ever since she's returned from an African Safari and what troubles her even more is that her psychic gift returned to her as well.
