Captain Ahab - David Miceli

This is what I consider to be the missing story about Captain Ahab. It will take you from the time of his birth to the first mention of his name in Herman Melville's novel 'Moby Dick'. This story will explain to you, the people and events that shaped the man into that figure you see in Herman Melville's novel. From himself and the description of himself by others, you will understand who he is, and why he is that way. You will experience his drive and determination, his aspirations and his shortcomings, his hopes and his fears. You will be taken whaling at a time when it was man, pitted against the largest adversary ever placed on the earth. Live out life and death on the high seas; on the other side of the world; where the only things you have to rely on, were each other, the wisdom of the men in charge that have gone before you, and God. The story will leave you at the very start of that great American novel, 'Moby Dick'. Hopefully for you it will answer all the lingering questions about just who was Captain Ahab, and what transpired in his life that made him that revengeful, compulsive madman you find in Herman Melville's novel. No one could ever do justice to the legacy left behind by Herman Melville, and I have no illusions that I have done so.
