The Perfect Arrangement - Gabriela Pechova

The Perfect Arrangement is based on a true story, which, unfortunately, did not have a happy-ever-after ending in real life. This book is written for young and middle-aged women and is a delightful read. The story follows women's lives as they become involved with wealthy, controlling men living in large cities. Likely, many women will be able to relate to portions of this story, where the exchange of beauty and youth for financial security is not really frowned upon. In fact, often, these arrangements are quite common, and they don't always end well. In The Perfect Arrangement, young Natalia puts her profile on an "arrangement" type of website. Robert, a successful businessman, responds. The relationship is not without its share of problems, but the two find ways to better communicate and relate to each other.

Author Gabriela Pechova wrote this book primarily because she is passionate about writing stories. However, she also wants to convey the message that all relationships are not the same, and thus, they shouldn't be judged by the same lens. Different relationships serve different purposes. Through her words, she expresses the message that "if your relationship with someone makes you happy, it doesn't have to make sense to anybody else." We are all unique creatures with unique needs and wants. The author is more than qualified to write this novel because of her intimate knowledge of a dear friend's experiences in such an arrangement, plus the fact that she has spent the last twenty years living in Atlanta, where these arrangements are relatively commonplace.
