NOTES FROM THE MARGIN is about the subjective experience of feeling like an outsider. Through personal and sometimes humorous stories and real-life examples, author Katherine E. Mezei explores some situations in which we may temporarily choose to withdraw, and others when marginality is imposed. At times we choose to find respite from the demands of relating. At other times it feels as if the universe is conspiring to keep us on the outside looking in. Examples may be big or small, life altering or simply distracting.
