The day a boy named Christopher Forrester rescued a griffin from a lake changed his life forever. It was then that he learned about the Archipelago, a cluster of islands that do not appear on any map. From ancient times to the present day, mythical creatures have lived there, powered by the magic of a brilliant light. On the same day, Christopher met Mel Ervorian, an orphaned girl with a flying coat.
