He reflects on things accomplished and barriers that had to be overcome, all to acknowledge that even if he was able to successfully do a few things, he continually needed God's help and the support of many others. Jones's specific journey as an African-American navigating the challenges and embracing the opportunities of the civil rights era helped shape him into the person he is today.
