While dwelling on the beauty, excellence, and amiableness of Christ, His great atoning work on Calvary has been solicitously held forth, in its all-sufficiency, and as the only hope of a lost world as bringing glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men. It has been the author's aim to present the subject in a scriptural point of view, carefully regarding the divine declaration- 'To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.'
