Sappho (barwione brzegi) w.ukraińska - Lesya Ukrainka
Who is Lesya Ukrainka to us? The daughter of Prometheus, the Singer of the Dawns Lights, the Great Sick Woman? Weve all known this image since school, and its painfully clichd. But Lesya Ukrainka was also Larisa Kosacha delicate, sensual woman with incredible love stories. Sappho is a collection of works across various genres, in which the author reveals herself through her relationships with men: early romantic infatuations that turned into poems and plays; the great feminine adventure and the lyrical drama it gave rise to; and married life as reflected in her writing. The story of a modern Ukrainian womans passion resonates remarkably with the myth of antiquitys most famous female writer. Something fundamental remains unchanged in people, even as millennia pass.
